About

In the spring of 2015, Dwight Grimm and Leigh Van Swall revived the historic Greenville Drive-In in Greenville, NY. In addition to upgrading the projection equipment, the couple built a fully-licensed biergarten in the concessions area to showcase Dwight’s unique approach to craft cocktails utilizing local ingredients and products from the Catskills and wider Capital Region.

This gave birth to Cinema with a Twist, a multimedia information brand featuring articles, recipes, a podcast and personal appearances by Dwight celebrating the histories of cocktails, movies and their occasional intersection. Together, Dwight, Leigh and the Greenville Drive-in have been featured in The New York Times, Rolling Stone, The Albany Times-Union and featured in April Wright’s 2022 documentary Back to the Drive-in. From 2015-2018, Cinema with a Twist appeared both as a one-hour radio show on WIOX Radio 91.3FM and a regular column in The Greenville Pioneer. In 2017, Dwight produced the historic re-enactment of the Schoharie Free Street Movies Centennial, honoring the village’s unique contribution to the birth of drive-in movies. The Greenville Drive-in also makes an uncredited appearance as the backdrop for the entirety of Taylor Swift’s official lyric video for This is Me Trying

When we’re not watching movies and shaking drinks, you’ll find us out the road, often abroad, and always in search of a new story or a new ingredient.
